Dr. April Martin was born in Washington, DC, but grew up in Maryland and New York. As a young girl playing hand ball, and walking to the corner store with her brothers and cousins in Brooklyn, she noticed graffiti everywhere. She was captivated by the liveliness of the colors and how expressive it was. From the various shapes of the letters, to the vibrant color. To some, it was just graffiti, to her, it was art. It was a form of self-expression. Being true to who you are was always important to Dr. Martin, that's why her brand packaging is graffiti.
